The next model up, the SE (MSRP of $25,300), comes with the 1.6L EcoBoost® engine. With the EcoBoost® engine, the gas mileage for city rises to an estimated 23 mpg and the highway to estimated 32 mpg. On the final model, the Titanium, there is a 2.0L EcoBoost® I-4 engine. The mileage for the Titanium is estimated at 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The 2016 Ford Escape also comes with aluminum engine blocks and dual-pipe exhausts.

Each of the 2016 Ford Escape models comes with the 6-speed SelectShift® automatic. The SelectShift® system gives the driver a dual-clutch experience while driving this vehicle. This transmission features many of the benefits of both a manual and an automatic transmission.

The 2016 Ford Escape is built with safety in mind. The NHTSA crash test results give the 2016 Ford Escape an impressive 4-star overall safety rating.
