Ford's Interior Materials Tested For Durability
Ford is committed to providing you with a vehicle built to last! That includes an interior that is ready to last long-term. That is why Ford tests the fabric, plastic, and leather materials being used in the vehicle's interior.
Durability testing includes:
Five-Finger Scratch Test-- plastic samples are scratched to monitor how much abuse they can take.
Soil and Cleanability-- substances are splashed on seat fabrics to test stain resistance and cleanability.
Resistance to Dye Transfer Test-- different color materials are rubbed against leather seat materials to see if it creates staining.
Mace Snagging Test-- seat fabrics are tested for strength by running them through rollers while they are being hit by spikey iron balls.
In addition, testers smells materials to distinguish any disturbing odors that may cause an unpleasant experience in the vehicle's interior.
Stop by Big Mike Naughton Ford to learn more about the quality materials utilized for the interiors of Ford vehicles.
