Ford and McDonalds Team Up in Sustainability Efforts

Ford Motor Company has teamed up with McDonald's USA to work on sustainability efforts that will be good for our planet.  They have started this effort by focusing on coffee and how the chaff (dried skin of the bean) can be repurposed in vehicle components.  The chaff is leftover during the roasting process and can be made into a durable material to reinforce some vehicle parts.  The chaff is mixed with plastic and some other additives to create a product that can be formed into the needed shapes.

This exciting innovation is just part of Ford's efforts toward using sustainable materials to produce vehicles around the world.  Ford and McDonalds are hoping to continue to find innovative ways to reduce waste and increase sustainability.
